Meet Hillary Clinton … or should I say, Hillary Huckabee? Like her former governor, Mike Huckabee, who finally bowed out of the republican presidential campaign after the handwriting had been on the wall for months, Hillary just can't take a hint.
Poll after poll has shown that that the chances of her winning the democratic nomination are slim, and now the polls are indicating that she won't survive in a head-to-head contest with John McCain. Barack Obama, on the other hand, is leading McCain in the general election polls in addition to being ahead of Hillary in the number of primaries and caucuses won, and in the delegate count.
Forget the trees and take a look at the forest! You may think you're entitled to the presidency, baby, but look around; few else do. Drop out now and rally your supporters around Obama if you want a democratic victory.
Hillary's husband, former President Bill Clinton, even had the audacity to state that she would make a better president than he was because she has more experience now than he did in 1992. The man had been a governor for 12 years and a state attorney general before that. She has served one full term in the U.S. Senate. Exactly what kind of experience has she had? I admired Nancy Reagan a great deal, but living in the White House for eight years certainly didn't qualify her to be president once Ronald was out of office.
Granted the experience, argument can be made against Obama as well, as far as time in the Senate, but he does have a leg up on Hillary in that he served in his state legislature for seven years before that.
The candidate and her surrogates have bragged of late about her 35+ years of experience. Doing what? She was an attorney. I know plenty of other shyster lawyers who've practiced a lot longer and still aren't qualified to lead the free world.
Give it up, Hillary. Your eight years as first lady ruined your chance to ever be president, and now you're ruining your party's chance to capture the White House in November. John McCain must be laughing his rear end off.
