Tomorrow night, the Tipsy Teapot will showcase the hip-hop band “The Koolest” beginning at 7 p.m. as a part of The Tipsy Teapot series “Night of Flow Hip Hop.”

“Tipsy Teapot is a type of place where they don’t really discriminate. They do everything from Jazz to Metal, Hip-Hop to Indie,” said Jordan Finn, the promoter for the event. “They are really good at getting really diverse types of music. “

“The Koolest” is a duo of two men from Durham and they are a hip-hop band. They both attended the same high school but did not meet until years later. They have been working together since 2010. They also used to formally go by the name of “Diverse”.

The two men are rappers in the hip-hop genre. Finn explained that they are not the average hip-hop band. He said they have a unique style and have had many opportunities with well-known hip-hop performers.

“I’ve actually worked with them for a few years. They used to not be musicians until after they graduated high school,” said Finn. “They are definitely a 90s hip-hop style, even though they were not born in the 90s. They’ve been in acts with Mos Def, Big Krit, and Juicy J.”

Finn explained that the band is very passionate about their work. He also said Greenville is not the typical hip-hop place but this show will definitely help get the message out.

According to Finn, students and the Greenville community can expect a different music scene. Most of all, Jordan explains that supporting the band and other music lovers is appreciated.

“Everyone’s support goes a long way, even if you come by yourself. The music scene in Greenville is something that is not to prevalent right now, and we are trying to bring it back, hip-hop especially,” said Finn. “We are trying to bring back artists we know have talent and will put on a good show for everybody.”

Finn said that coming out to the show supports someone who is really passionate about what they do. “It’s something that doesn’t come to Greenville a lot. We don’t get a lot of Hip-Hop here, Tipsy Teapot was so great  to let us bring this here,” said Finn. “Who knows the next time when we can put something together like this?”

Along with “The Koolest”, there will be many sponsors at The Tipsy Teapot. The companies Happy Juice and WhoHere will be explaining their products and new technology to the crowd.
