Starring in their big debut, the models and over a hundred Greenville citizens gathered in Mendenhall Student Center on East Carolina University’s campus on Monday, the eve of World Down Syndrome Day.
Hundreds of eyes fixated on a stage that was complimented by a red carpet, cityscape backdrop and huge shimmering gold letters spelling “Hollywood.” Once the house lights dimmed and the first model marched out onto the stage, the faces of the audience members immediately lit up. This was not an ordinary fashion show.
This was a show whose models do more than wear expensive garments: they send a message. Limitless in their endeavours, the models prove that having an extra chromosome does not define what they are capable of.
