Yeah, these "gates" here at Pirates Place sure do help when they've been closed for all of about two days since I moved in on August 15th. The rest of the time they've just been hanging wide open. I see the police CARS parked here, but I've yet to see any actual cops more than once or twice, either.

Buy a gun. If you're under 21 and can't buy a pistol, buy a shotgun (12 gauge pump action). Learn how to use it safely, and learn the laws about the use of deadly force so you don't end up in jail yourself. Protect yourself and your home. Ask who it is before opening the door at night. Get some pepper spray too, maybe a baseball bat.

I already felt really unsafe about living at Pirate's Place, but now I feel even more unsafe after reading this article. Hopefully the management staff will read this paper and get the message and make all the drug dealers and gang members move out of Pirate's Place. Someone is going to eventually get killed. I can feel it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the picture on this article looks like University Suites out on Arlington, not Pirate's Place or any of the other complexes listed in the article.
