The ECU baseball team won three out of four games last week, closing out the regular season with a 39-17 record overall and a 13-11 mark in conference play. The ECU softball team bowed out of the Baton Rouge Regional, dropping a 9-1 decision to No. 9 national seed LSU Saturday evening inside Tiger Park. The Pirates end their season at 37-30 while the Tigers improve to 44-17. LSU will have to beat No. 16 UL-Lafayette twice on Sunday to move on to the Super Regional round.
No. 37 ECU closed out the 2008 NCAA Women's East Regional Championships with a 54-hole score of 919 (314-297-308) at the University of Georgia Golf Course and finished 12th out of 21 teams, marking the Pirates highest ever finish in NCAA postseason play.
