East Carolina University alumni and former men’s tennis player Massimo Mannino has been named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.

The list celebrates the 30 most influential people under the age of 30 in categories such as education, healthcare and technology, among others.

Mannino was named to the list under the technology category because of his work as the co-founder of the data company Novalytica and the career platform DataCareer.

“It's an honor to have made the Forbes 30 Under 30,” Mannino said.

After graduating from ECU, Mannino earned a PhD in economics from the University of St. Gallen in his home country of Switzerland.

“My time as a student athlete at ECU has taught me how to deal with pressure, use my time efficiently and keep fighting when things are not going well.” Mannino said.

Mannino played for the ECU tennis team during the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 seasons.
