In preparation for the 2019-2020 football season, East Carolina University has made some safety changes about bringing bags into Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

Fans will be allowed only one clear plastic bag that is no bigger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, or one clear resealable one-gallon plastic storage bag.

Friday morning, ECU’s athletic department announced the changes in a press release.

“Fans will also be allowed a small clutch purse not to exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.” the press release said.

No other bags will be allowed into the stadium.

“Only one clear plastic bag no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches or a one-gallon, clear, resealable plastic storage bag per person will be permitted.” the press release said.

ECU will provide all football season ticket holders with one complimentary bag per household by mailing them during mid-August.

Fans can also purchase the approved clear bag at Dowdy Student Stores in the ECU Main Campus Student Center, as well as other area retailers.

A full list of allowed and prohibited items is located on ecupirates.com.
